The shortest cruise from New York on this schedule is 4 nights. There are no 2- or 3-night sailings from either city terminal, and the 4-night trips are rare. If you can take a working week off, the 5-night trips to Bermuda and Canada give you far more choice.

The table at the end of this guide lists every sailing shorter than a week, with today's fares.

Are there 3-day cruises from New York?

No. There are no 3-day cruises from NYC on this schedule: the shortest is 4 nights, and neither Manhattan nor Brooklyn has anything shorter. CruiseTimetables, which also covers Cape Liberty in New Jersey and runs to August 2029, shows nothing under 4 nights either.

The distance explains it. Bermuda, where most short trips go, is about 40 hours' sailing from New York each way, so even a 4-night trip has only about eight hours there.

4-day cruises from New York

A 4-night cruise is the shortest you can book from New York, and the schedule has only 6 of them, nearly all to Bermuda. By the calendar a 4-night trip covers five days, so it is also what many people mean by a "5-day" cruise.

Each trip has one sea day out, one day in port and one sea day back. The Bermuda calls last about eight hours, usually 8am to 4pm.

On 31 October 2026 fares ran from $447 to $2,286 per person, for the cheapest cabin with taxes and fees included. The cheapest cabin left can be an ocean view or a balcony on these trips, so check what the fare buys. Royal Caribbean's 4-night Canada trips leave from Cape Liberty in Bayonne, which this site does not list.

5-day cruises from New York

Five-night cruises are the practical short option from New York, with 30 on the schedule, nearly all to Bermuda.

  • Norwegian Luna to Bermuda. Late August to early October, on a different weekday each time, with one night docked at the Royal Naval Dockyard.
  • Norwegian Bliss to Bermuda. One Sunday departure each April.
  • Carnival Firenze to Bermuda. A few dates from July to October 2027.
  • Carnival Firenze to Canada. Thursday departures from May to August 2027, to Halifax and Saint John, with one sailing to Portland and Saint John.

On 31 October 2026 fares ran from $575 to $1,999 per person. The top of that range is Disney Wish's one-way trip to San Juan. The 5-night page shows every sailing with its fare per night.

Weekend cruises from New York

No cruise from New York fits inside a weekend, because nothing leaves on a Friday and returns by Monday. The closest are Carnival Firenze's 4-night Bermuda trips from Thursday to Monday, which are back at about 8am on Monday.

A trip like that means taking Thursday and Friday off, and possibly Monday morning. The Friday-to-Tuesday sailing means taking Friday and Monday off, and possibly Tuesday morning.

Plenty of longer cruises leave at a weekend, and the weekend cruises page lists every sailing that departs on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Norwegian Luna's Saturday 7-night trips are the regular example, and they need a full working week off.

Is a 7-night cruise from New York better value than a short one?

When this guide was checked on 30 October 2026, a 7-night cruise from New York was better value per night on Carnival and not on Norwegian. On 31 October 2026 the lowest fare per night was $112 at 4 nights, $115 at 5 nights and $104 at 7 nights, per person with taxes and fees included. Those lowest figures come from different ships and routes, so the same-ship comparisons below are more useful.

All three compare fares read on 30 October 2026, and fares move every day.

  • Carnival Firenze to Bermuda, September and October 2027. The 7-night had the lowest fare per night, the 5-night was next and the 4-night cost the most. It is the same ship in the same weeks, so this is the cleanest comparison on the schedule.
  • Norwegian Bliss to Bermuda, spring 2027. The 5-night in April cost less per night than the 7-night trips in the weeks before it.
  • Norwegian Luna to Bermuda. Its cheapest 5-night, in September, cost less per night than its cheapest 7-night. The 7-night trips run in spring and summer and the 5-night trips in late summer and fall, so the season is part of that gap.

Time ashore changes the sum. A 7-night on Norwegian Luna gets 52 to 56 hours in Bermuda against 30 or 31 on the 5-night. Comparing the cheapest of each, the 7-night costs less for every hour on the island, so for time in Bermuda it is the better buy even on Norwegian.

The 7-night page shows today's fares, and the cruise length guide compares every length. Our Bermuda guide has the time in port for each ship, and cheap cruises lists the lowest fares of any length.

Which New York terminal do short cruises use?

Every short sailing on the official Cruise NYC calendar, which runs to 22 December 2027, leaves from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. The terminals for later sailings are not published yet, so check the sailing's own page.
